Early Voting

A few key things to know:

To vote in my primary, you must be registered at your current address in District 13 (and as a Republican) - This is particularly important if you've moved recently. If you need to update your registration, you must have that done by Monday, May 20 to vote in the June 4 primary. The printable form to update your registration is available here: https://sdsos.gov/elections-voting/assets/VoterRegistrationFormFillable.pdf (you can also do this in person at the County Auditor's Office).

You can vote early at your County Auditor's Office - during business hours on any weekday.  Keep in mind that my legislative district includes portions of both Minnehaha and Lincoln counties, and you have to go to the Auditor's Office in your county of residence.  The Minnehaha County Auditor is in the county administration building, downtown at 415 N. Dakota Ave, Sioux Falls SD; and the Lincoln County Auditor is in the courthouse in Canton: 104 N. Main St, Canton SD.

You can also vote by mail - The printable form to request an absentee ballot be mailed to your home is available here: https://sdsos.gov/elections-voting/assets/AbsenteeApplication_202012.PDF If you use this option, you can return the ballot in person to your County Auditor, or return it by mail - but please allow enough time to have it in the auditor's hands before the primary - they don't count if they are late!

Sample ballots are available - This allows you to see ahead of time what other elections are on the primary ballot. Ballots vary depending on where you live - you can view your specific sample ballot here: https://vip.sdsos.gov/VIPLogin.aspx (If you prefer to vote in person on Primary Day, this page also tells you where your polling place will be.)
